View customer origin patterns down to the census block group level for deeper geographic precision.
Note: This feature is part of the Almanac 2.0 navigation and is available under the Trade area data tab in the Places section.
Overview
The Home CBGs view reveals where your store’s visitors live, using Census Block Groups (CBGs) for highly granular geographic analysis. It allows you to see exactly which small local areas contribute visitors, offering a sharper lens on store catchment and neighborhood-level performance.
The map uses color shading to show visitor density by CBG, with each range representing the percentage of total visitors from that area.
Accessing Home CBG Data
- Go to the Places tab in the navigation bar.
- Select a store you want to analyze.
- Open the Trade area data tab.
- Use the dropdown to switch to Census Block Groups.
Interpreting the Map
The map displays CBGs with varying shades to represent how many visitors live in each block group. Darker shades indicate higher percentages of visitors.
Hovering over a CBG reveals:
- The CBG identifier
- The percentage of traffic it contributes
